Overview

Datacom is a leading IT services provider, specialising in delivering innovative technology solutions. As the hybrid work model evolved, they faced the challenge of creating an office space that seamlessly connected remote and in-person teams. With the help of Logitech’s flexible, intuitive solutions like Scribe, Tap and the Rally Bar, Datacom transformed their headquarters, Whai, into a dynamic, tech-enabled workspace that fosters collaboration, enhances productivity, and supports their forward-thinking approach to work.

Challenge

For Datacom, the desire was to design and create a workplace that was responsive to different ways of working and supported people to do their best work. The aim was to create spaces that would enable people to thrive in a flexible, purpose-driven environment and encourage collaborative ways of working both in the office and remotely. At the heart of their research sat four mindsets – learn, clarify, focus and create – where the design of office spaces and experiences would need to meet people where they needed to be, how they needed to work and what they wanted to do. For Datacom – and its key build partners, including Logitech and Futureworks – this insight became a chance to radically rethink office design and technology application. And with Whai, its new headquarters, Datacom had the opportunity to leverage Logitech's cutting-edge technology and solutions to reshape how employees connect, collaborate and perform.

Solution

Logitech’s people-first design aligns with Datacom’s strategy of empowering employees and fostering collaboration. Datacom’s Managing Director, Justin Gray, asked, “How do we fundamentally shift the concept of collaboration in the workplace?” Both companies believe people, not physical assets, drive business success, shaping their vision of transformative workspaces.

Gray emphasised leveraging technology to support hybrid work, overcoming challenges like disconnection and disengagement. This led to solutions that keep teams connected. Logitech’s Rally Bar and Tap offered easy-to-use video conferencing, while the Logi Dock consolidated functions to streamline workflows.

The goal was to create adaptable spaces that meet the diverse needs of employees. For quiet moments, the Brio Webcam and Logi Dock enabled seamless video calls without disrupting work. For collaboration, the Rally Bar provided clear audio and video. The Logitech Scribe allowed for real-time whiteboard sharing in meetings, fostering interactivity and innovation during hybrid sessions.

Results

The new workspace at Datacom has significantly enhanced collaboration, engagement and customer interactions. Tracey Cotter-Martin, Associate Director of Optimisation and Innovation, highlighted the ease and simplicity of Logitech’s technology, which fosters seamless connections. Since moving, Datacom has seen a threefold increase in client visits, strengthening business relationships and solidifying its position as a dynamic partner. The space hosts nearly 50 offsite visitors each week and has executed over 110 events in just three months, including 69 customer events, 18 workshops, and 9 community gatherings, reinforcing Datacom’s role as a hub for collaboration and innovation.

Employee engagement also surged, with teams actively utilising the tech-enabled spaces, which allow for seamless remote and in-office collaboration. The integration of advanced technology attracts not only employees but clients into the office, with over 230 people using the space daily. This high usage demonstrates the workspace’s value and impact on both internal and external collaboration.
